Is there any significance that “feature layer” is added in grey format?

I’m wondering if the grey format signifies that the service is “feature layer”

/customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000eltm2EAA

  It signifies that "include Map Service in Layer List" is not selected

  Many thanks Chase for the help.

  But what is the advantage of having “include map service in layer list” checked?

  If you include map service it appears that you get the option for transparency on the layer.  I'm not 100% sure all the differences but that's one.
