“Split” tool in the Geocortex,
“Split” tool in the Geocortex,
I’m not sure if it is possible to split a particular feature into two parts with the editing tools available in the Geocortex the same way we do the ArcGIS desktop

Jamal,
try the 'Cut' tool from the editing tools options. It will split the line in two. Works with polygons also.
Word of warning though - it will wipe field values of one of the new features created. ie. if I cut a polygon into two sections, it will pick the smaller of the two (well in my experience anyway) and transfer all existing field data across to this new entity, and leave the other one (generally the larger one) - blank! I just tested it with the line splitting/cutting and the same thing happened.
I'll get onto LG and see what they have to say about this behaviour - as the 'reshape' tool does not do this.
cheers

Many thanks gareth for the help. This solves my issue.
The icon name and symbol is confusing. All other software call this command “split”.

Jamal,
It's more than simply a splitting tool really. Our users love the fact it can cut 'donuts' in polygon objects also, so the terminology holds true for a 'cut' in this sense....
