Services Enhancement Proxy overriding map layer attribute field modifications

So much for using the Services Enhancement Proxy...

I modify numeric fields that display area and length in various units to display only 1 decimal place in the map layer*, which has been displaying beautifully in SL viewers as of late - but if you enable the Service Enhancement Proxy to display coded value domains fields, it then also ignores the map layer attribute field modifications.

*I know my SDE feature classes should be using DOUBLE fields that are already set with the desired scale and precision but I don't have control over my client's data.
