Specify a custom URL that works on mobile devices
New to Essentials. I'm trying to shorten/customize the url to our viewers. I followed the instructions (http://support.geocortex.com/specify-a-custom-url-for-your-essentials-site) HERE and put it in an iFrame. Works great on desktop, is there a way to do the same so it works on mobile/tablet devices?
Thanks.

thanks Jason,
I'll give this a try. Similarly, does editing the "default" viewer here change the viewer that shows when going to the root path? Right now if I navigate to the root in my browser it shows the demo world cities map
Thanks,
Craig

followed the instructions and I don't have a path that looks similar to the example given in the knowledge base article:
After my REST folder I don't have anything similar to the path above
I have a sites folder and the rest of the path in my x86 Program Files folder but not in my inetpub folder.
Any ideas?

Hi Craig,
The correct knowledge base article can be found here - https://support.geocortex.com/how-to-shorten-the-viewer-for-html5-url and the path you've posted is the one that is a starting point. What is the path that you came up with? An easy way to check the configuration is to put the path you have into a browser window and see what you get.
If you are following the example:
then the URL you want to try would be similar to (ie replacing the shell name variable)
Does this post make it clear for you?
regards,
EdmondPS - Yes, editing the default will change the viewer that does show up.

Hi Craig,
Glad to hear you've got it working, and that you've let the forum know. In what you've posted I do see that there is no trailing forward slash after Default in the path. This missing slash is a common pitfall when editing the URL.
