Setting permissions to “export to CSV” and “export to shape”,

I couldn’t figure out how to set permissions to “export to CSV” and “export to shape”. At the moment, end-users can download the data without restrictions.

 

What is amazing is that the “print template” can be enabled\disabled depending on user\role settings. Then how come the “export to CSV” and “export to shape” are not available so that they can be enabled\disabled according to the user\role settings.

  Hi Jamal, 

   

  Unfortunately, you cannot set permissions on tools. However, you can remove those tools altogether from the Action Panel and create a workflow (which you can set permissions on) to mimic the export to CSV/shapefile tool. This way, only users of your choosing can download your data. I would also suggest you include this idea on our Ideas Board so future releases may allow you to restrict tool access.

  As Carmen stated, you cannot set permissions directly within Geocortex. However, we have released a set of tools that allow you to do this. Documentation, examples, and code can be found at https://github.com/DigitalDataServices/GeocortexMenuComponents
