  • David, I had some similar problems and I resolved managing AGS services with the AGS Manager (browser version), checking authorizations to single users.

    You could also try to use the "Token Security (by user)" option in Essential's Manager Connections Settings. This let me get out of most difficult secured connections!

    Thanks for the suggestion Gu. I used token security and it did work. I suspect part of my problem is that my AGS is configured to use the GIS Tier of security for authenticating rather than the Web Tier. But when I changed it to Web Tier everything was locked down and none of my public services were open. I gave up trying to sort that out since the token option works.
