Initialization Error - HTML5 on IE 11 Tablet only
Hi all,
Trying to track down a solution an 'Initialization Error' occuring only on Windows 8.1 tablets running IE 11 with our HTML5 application. Running HTML5 2.2 viewer. App runs fine in Chrome. Tried setting compatibility in the browser, and that didn't change anything. Tried hard coding the compatibility setting into the index.html, and that didn't seem to change anything either. The app loads the basic frame, but kicks unable to view model errors such as featurelayerViewModel, ClearDataViewModel and then shows an 'Access is Denied' error.
But again, this runs fine in Chrome on the tablet and fine on the desktop and Android phones. Anyone seen similar with IE 11 or even better found a solution??
Thanks!
Brian

Hi Brian,
That definitely shouldn't be happening and it's a new one to me. What kind of tablet are you using? Is it running Windows RT or Windows 8?
If you could get in touch with Support, we'll see if we can't get to the bottom of this for you.
Cheers,
Jordan

Thanks Jordan,
Yeah, it is an odd one. These are Dell Windows 8 tablets. Running updated IE 11 browsers. We updated all the tablets with Chrome and they all run fine now with the HTML5 viewer. I'll chat with support about it soon.
Thanks!

Im getting an initialization error as well using windows 8.1 on the destop version of IE11 on a Lenovo tablet. (IE launced from the desktop)
I used the "tablet" version of IE on the Lenovo tablet and I was able to load my site. (IE launched from the windows tile)

btw...
I'm getting the same error messages as Brian,
"Could not attach view model "FeatureLayerViewModel" to view "FeatureLayerDetailsview" view model not found
"Could not attach view model "FeatureLayerViewModel" to view "FeatureLayerListView" view model not found
"Could not attach view model "ConnectionStatusIndicatorViewModel" to view "ConnectionStatusIndicatorView" view model not found
"Could not attach view model "ClearDataViewModel" to view "CleardataView" view model not found

wee hawed the sme problem and was fixed by adding all the AGS servers and GC servers to trusted sites(webs) list in IE. Seems to be some extra setting in IE.

I'm seeing the issue on an Asus 8.1 tablet in IE11 only when trying to load a viewer that uses Windows authenication. Public viewers work fine.
I jsut tested this on GE 4.4 and the GVH 2.5. Is IE11 supported?

Seeing the same experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge too. This is only happening with sites that use Windows Integration. Public sites work fine, except that they don't display Markdown text in Display Forms.
