DataLink Fields in Feature Description

The thread below speaks about getting DataLink fields to show in "Feature Details". Data Links automatically show in the Feature Details panel, but I'm trying to get DataLink fields to show in the Feature Description so it can be seen in a map tip. Has anyone been able to make this work in the HTML5 viewer?

I have tried using the syntax {DataLink_ID.Field_name} with both the database column name and the alias I've defined in my SQL statement. Nothing shows in the Feature Description or map tip.
Is this supposed to work in the HTML5 viewer?

Hi guys, this certainly works in the newer versions of the html5 viewer. you reference it using
{datalinkID.FieldName}
However we found these prohibitively slow when used in feature description so opt not to use it.0
