Saving related data / attachment fails
We have recently upgraded from GE 4.1.3 with HTML5 viewer 2.2 to GE 4.2 with HTML5 viewer 2.3. With our old installation we have successfully stored photos as attachments in a geodatabase (SDE).
When trying to add an attachment in the upgraded version, we get the following error message: "Alert. File attachment failed. Internal Server Error". We get the error message when we're trying to save edits in the HTML5 viewer. We have tried with several browsers.
Can anyone confirm that they are able to save attachments with the new HTML5 viewer, or does anyone know the reason for the error message we are getting?
Thanks.

I have the same problem after the upgrade to the same versions. I was uploading attachments successfully via HTML5 Viewer and now get the same error on 2 different layers - File attachment failed. Internal Server Error.
Works if I add from ArcMap. Saving edits in HTML5 works for me though.

Hi Aleksandra,
Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. We have made a fix and file attachment/upload will be back in working order in our upcoming maintenance release 2.3.1Sorry for the inconvenience,
Cory Purnell.

This doesn't seem to have been fixed at 2.3.1. I still can't upload through the client, I can through the REST API though. Anyone else get to work?

We are running HTML5 Viewer 2.2 and have the same issue. "File Attachment failed. Forbidden" is the Alert we get.
Can anyone confirm that upgrading viewer will fix the issue? Or anyone find a solution to this?
We are attempting to be able to attach photos to our inspection data collected in the field.
Thanks...

Hi,
Ours is working again after upgrading to 2.3.1. I can upload photos from the feature details. But I was getting an Internal Server Error before, not the Forbidden error. There is this post that references that problem, maybe it will help? https://support.geocortex.com/SupportForums/Thread.aspx?pageid=0&mid=2&ItemID=9&thread=54761

Perhaps you should add your ArcGIS Server REST url to proxy.config?

Hello Alex Baker,
I think that Nico is correct with the suggestion, if you add the rest url to your proxy.config file that should solve the Forbidden issue. I am able to replicate the same error and fix it on my geocortex instances. If you have any other issues or if that fix doesn't work, please let me know and we can work to find a solution.

Cory,
I was successfully able to add attachment by editing the proxy.config (adding our server's REST url. Thanks!
Now...
Within the application interface we only see the option to upload a file/photo to a feature only when it is idenified on
within the application. Only when the feature is identied on does the upload file/photo option appear in the Feature Details
module. We would like to have this functionality when a new point is created right from the begininng.
Also we notice (speciifc to only one of our HTML5 viewers), that when we identify on features using a tablet or hand held device
no data shows up in the Feature Details. When we use the same application on our desktop browsers, we are able to see the
data within features identified on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
