Cannot enable SSL in post install / 443 binding error
We are having some trouble with SSL configuration in Geocortex Essentials. We are having an issue where SSL cannot be enabled due to a binding error. We have verified that the binding on 443 exists, and that it is valid. SSL is checked as required (under SSL Settings), and GE functions correctly, including managing the user store.
On a second server, where we are trying to debug this same issue, the same error is appearing. That server is in our DMZ, and we also have the additional effect of not being able to manage users in the identity store – we are getting a 404 when we attempt to access the store. All other settings should be the same (other than being in the DMZ).
GE 4.2 (but the problem existed in 4.1.x as well)

This is a bug in 4.2 (4.x?). Tech support says:
--------------
The SSL prompt issue will be resolved in our 4.2.1 maintenance release. The case was just updated by our development team.
From watching traffic on Fiddler it does appear that authentication works correctly through port 443. I tested with and without a port 80 binding and nothing changed.
I tested it internally here and reproduced the POST Installer issue on one of our VMs. However, I just completed the POST Installer with the SSL flag enabled and the warning present. When I tested the identity server on the SSL binding it worked fine.

I am upgrading from 4.1.5 to 4.3 and I just spent half an hour wading through IIS docs trying to figure out what to do. Thanks for posting this. I think it is the same scenario for me, where we have a binding set up on port 443 already. I clicked next (even though the "error" telling me I must create an HTTPS binding on the website in IIS Manager was still there) and it is letting me carry on.
