Comma separator in the Geocortex

Hello all,

I am wondering if there is a method to dispaly the comma separators if geocortex sine I can show them in the attriubte feilds at  ArcGIS desktop level 

/customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000eltgYEAQ

I need Geocortex to display the area with comma separators , what can be done to solve this issue ?

    To my knowledge, there isn't a way to do this on layer fields. You can format data link fields to use comma separators using a SQL query.

    I am publishing a single MXD file and as you see in the G.E when the end user use "identify tool" he sees the Plan type and the area from the same attribute table and with out any data links or join, I am sorry I didnt understand what you ment by "format data link fields to use comma separators using SQL query"

    Check out the section on Data Links in the GE admin guide. It does a better job explaining it than I could here. The reason I thought of this is because you'd have greater control over formatting the values with SQL expressions.

    As far as using ArcMap field settings, I wonder if it's because you're trying to display a Shape field (Shape.STArea). If you try using a different number field to see if the thousand separators show up for it instead? Also, what version of Geocortex Essentials and Viewer are you using?

      I am displaying the (Shape.STArea) feild  in the GE, and the screenshot was to explain what I am displaying in the geocortex if the field in ArcGIS shows the comma separators why the GE dosent show them, and I dont use any data links why should I use SQL expressions? .

      Geocortex Essentials version :4.2.1 /  Viewer template:2.3

    I did a little testing, and it makes me think the problem is that it's a decimal field. At first I thought it might be because it's a Shape field, so I added a new field and calculated it to equal the Shape.STArea field. The formatting looks the same for both:

    I didnt got you in your last comment , did you mean to say that geocortex fails to dispaly the thousand separaters ?

    My problem isnt with the decimal fields , my problem is that I want to show the thousand separaters for example to if I have a field that have ten millions as a number I need to dispaly

    ( 10,000,000) not ( 10000000).

    Yes, I'm saying that Geocortex doesn't display the thousand separators for the large numbers. I don't know why it isn't. My two guesses are either because it's such a larger number or because it has decimal places.

    +1, when I add the thousand separator in ArcMap to an attribute and re-publish the service, and then point my map tip at those cell values, I get a point rather than a comma where the comma should be. Is this a cultural difference written into the software, or is this a glitch, or is it something to do with the fact that the field is numeric rather than string? Anyone havea  good answer or quick setting change or idea that does not involve data links?

    Geocortex has never been good at using the formatting set in the MXD.  There is however a lot of control in 4.5/2.6 - you can set default formatting for your whole site on the Site Info tab, and at the service level in the Display Settings tab, at the layer level in the Fields tab, and at the individual field level when you add a field and then edit it.  As you can see below, I'm using all sorts of formatting:
