Site Inheritance bug when going from GE 4.1 to 4.2
We have a site that inherits half of it's layers from a parent site, and other half of the map layers were added directly to the child site. All the layers were set to appear in the layer list, and the non-inherited map layers were set to be initially turned off.
After we upgraded from GE 4.1 to 4.2.1, all the non-inherited map layers disappeared from the layer list in the viewers, and they all now had their visibility set to on by default. The inherited map layers all stayed as they should be... I recognize this can be fixed manually in site manager by going to the new map layer interface and adding the map layers back into the layer list and toggling the visibility, but I beleive that there is a a bug that resulted in this happening when the site was upgraded in the first place. Has anyone else had any strange things happen related to site inheritance after upgrading to 4.2?

So, just to follow up on this. I did go and try to manually fix the problem by adding the missing inherited layers back into the viewer layer list using site manager. But even then, although manager shows them in the correct display order, they do not actually show up in the right order in the Geocortex Viewer. So looks like is related to the inherited site layer order bug reported here:

and here (this post looks to have manual solution for fixing by editing the site xml file):

but, is all this inheritance wizardry worth the effort if is still buggy? My experience so far with a couple of sites is that site inheritance is not "plug-and-play" and you will have to find work arounds and fixes for a number of things including related tables not alwas working correctly, etc.., and there are other issues reported in other forum posts.
