a "please wait" meaagae needed

I need to have a popup of some kind that says to please wait while this gathers all of your queried data.  It is looping through 8 different layers and sometimes can find a large amount of records so this can take a half a minute or so to run.  I barely see the little progress bar as it flashes 8 times.  I have the workflow in the Home panel but I want a popup indicating its running and I want it to automatically close when it's done.

Yes I know about the ConfigureWorkflowContainer activity and I can get a popup but that's before the user even makes the selelctions.  Or get it to pop up but the workflow stops until the user closes it.  I do not want it in the home panel because as it generates the selection all the results are being populated in the table below and I have some users that won't realize its still running.

I have tried to do a parallel with the container and the layer loop but this failed.  Any suggestions?
