Setting opacity for a single layer

Hi,

Can I apply the transparency for a single layer instead for the whole map service.

Is there any property that I can use to set the transparency for a single layer in the "Site.xml" page.

  I'd be interested to know if GE can do this, but I believe the constraint of transparency comes from ESRI and their API.

  Not the solution, but one suggestion might be to bring that layer in from the map service by itself with a layerMask.  Then that single layer would appear as if it was it's own map service and be able to have the map slider and startup opacity as any other would.  For instance:
