running workflow commands before or after add feature tool

Hi,

I need to update the edited record with the username and date.  is there a way to activate the add feature tool a workflow so that I can update the record before or after the add feature tool starts or completes?  or better stated, how do i activate the add feature tool in an html5 workflow?  i don't see the command to do that?
