Hi Brian, this is not currently possible. The viewer will show the order that the map service presents. We have a feature request to be able to do this in future versions so I've added you as a stakeholder to the feature request.

    Alejandro,

Thanks for the answer and for adding me as a stakeholder. I'm shifting over from the ESRI Flex Viewer, where my Identify widget has that capability. It will be sorely missed until it is added!

If you're using an enterprise geodatabase, you could create a view of your data that presents the fields in the order you want them.

    Hello Alejandro

Add us to that request please.  That would be a valuable feature.

    John,

I might explore your view suggestion a bit. Not all of our data is in SDE so it would only be a "half" solution. I just hope that this feature enhancement is high on the list of future additions to GE!

Actually, changing the field order or turning fields on and off in ArcMap prevents the items from displaying in Essentials.

Add Greenville SC to the list. Is there an idea for this?

I've added everyone who's asked to be a stakeholder to this issue. I'll follow up with Drew (the product manager for Essentials) when he's back in the office next week.

I have good news: this enhancement is part of a number of features around field value manipulations currently under development for what is very likely to be the next feature release, planned for Q1 of 2016.

    Jordan,

Somehow I missed your post in December. That is good news! Thanks for the update.

Quick follow-up: this feature is available in Essentials 4.5. You can see a quick overview in (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCVideo?sub-nav=videos&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_ARTICLE_DETAIL&dc=Geocortex_Essentials_vid&criteria=BESTANSWERS&id=kA560000000CbD5) this feature video .

    Hi Jordan,

I've got sorting fields working on our HTML viewer, but it's not working for our Silverlight viewer.  Is this possible at all in Silverlight?

    Hi Chelsea,

I'm afraid not. The Silverlight viewer had its last feature release, 2.5, alongside Essentials 4.4. This enhancement was implemented in the release after that, Essentials 4.5.

Thanks for your response! I ended up being able to rearrange them in the published .mxd and having that field order show in the Silverlight viewer.
