Add Bookmark grayed out after adding some

I am trying to add bookmarks to my site in GE 4.3.1. I was able to add one, but after applying and saving the site, the Add Bookmark button was grayed out. I came back to it a week later and was once again able to add a few, but as soon as I applied, the button grayed out again. Any ideas?
