kml and kmz will not display or load properly with a local intranet or local uri address??

    Hi Jeff,

    Unfortunately, you are correct that a KML/KMZ file must be published to the public Internet in order to function properly with Geocortex Essentials. This is due to the way that Esri's JavaScript API works with KML layers: it relies on a utility service (utility.arcgis.com ) that needs to read and process the KML data. Recently, Esri has added the ability to support KML hosted on private networks if you have Portal for ArcGIS. There is a new configuration option in the API that allows overriding the URL of the KML utility service to one that is locally hosted in Portal instead. I have created an improvement request in our issue tracking system to add support for this new setting. For your reference, the issue ID is GE-6842.
