Upgraded to 2.5 Viewer - no results now in Global Search
I upgraded my HTML5 v2.4 viewer to v2.5 and now the Global Search is not returning any results. It worked great in 2.4.
I only want to use Layer query and not Instant Search at this time. I have the Layer enabled for Global Search and the Field enabled for Global Search. I only want to use Search on the Handheld interface, but its not working on any interface. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Hi Heidi, 0 -
Are you using layer themes? If so, delete them an redo them. I've had that problem in every version since 3.15. 0 -
Thank you Mike and Joshua for suggestions. I changed my authentication settings in IIS to Anonymous only, and also removed the Themes. The good news is that I was able to get Global Search to work! The bad news is that it will only work for a brand new map service added to my existing site. The map services and layers that I had set up in 4.3 are not showing as results in the search. I was really hoping to avoid setting up all the layers, fields, names, settings again just for this one feature! 0 -
Try creating one layer theme called "All Layers" and uncheck the check box "Allow All Layers". Have no other themes. Then give it a try. 0 -
The security thing did not work for me. When is this known bug expected to be fixed? 0 -
I updated a layer this morning and now am unable to use the global search for any layer. Nothing I do fixes the issue. Typically I can get it back up and running with the layer theme trick but this time it's complely dead. Opening a support ticket. 0 -
Global search stopped working for the map service that is also having an issue with searching by using the query tool. I have reported the query tool issue to the Latitude earlier, and they told me there is a bug with secured services in v2.5. In any case both global search and query tool are not working for this particular map service. Hopefully they will be both fixed together in the next release. 0 -
Upgrade to the version 2.5.1 and it is now fixed. 0 -
This is fixed in 2.51 0 -
Once again global search does not work... Worked fine for a few weeks. Made no changes to the maps and all of a sudden. Broken... 0 -
Did anyone get this working? 0 -
I'm at 4.4.3 and 2.5.2 and I've never had this issue... 0 -
I'm at GE 4.6.3 and GVH 2.7.2 and Global Search does not work on my handheld (Android). Is there still a bug? The service is public and works fine in the desktop viewer. 0 -
It actually works fine in the handheld preview in Essentials. And other services work fine, too. It's just one of the services shows an error in the log for Layer Search Provider with status: 0 0 -

Hi Jamal, 0 -
you are right Wayne. It appears to be a browser issue. 0 -
Interesting, in Firefox, look at the Network tab in the developer tools (F12). You should see a query request to the map service. Maybe Firefox uses the proxy page and Chrome doesn't. There must be a difference, just need to find it!

Hi Alaa, 0 -
Thank you Wayne for confirming that the “relate” issue is a bug. Our users were shouting as they need all the time to refresh in order to get the correct relate value. We will be waiting the 4.12 release patiently. 0 -
We're having an issue where Global Search won't return results for certain fields when all layers and fields are searchable. 0 -
