    Hi Zorba,

I have tried to replicate your situation by moving a site from Essentials 4.1.5 and Silverlight Viewer 2.2 to an updated version of Essentials 4.4 and Silverlight Viewer 2.4 and I did not have a problem with the transition. I am not sure what you mean by not available. Can you not see the new site automatically in the Essentials 4.4 Manager?

If you copy and paste the entire site folder (located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites) from Essentials 4.1.5 to the new Essentials 4.4 Sites folder and refresh your Manager page, the site should automatically appear.

If you go to the Geocortex Essentials file (located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials), there should be 2 folders available since you have 2 instances (one for each version of Geocortex). One folder should be named "Default" unless you renamed it during installation. Please make sure you have copied and pasted your site to the correct folder.

    Hope this helps,

    Carmen,

thanks for your assistance. The migration to the new site worked fine in all regards except one. That is, my users have created lots of projects (the snapshots of layers, extent, redlines, etc... that you can save and open later). I can't figure out how to make these projects accessible in the new viewer. When I copy the project files from old instance projects folder to new instance projects folder, they do not show up in the 'open project' dialog. I have verified that the "Project Category' is set to 'Common' for both old and new viewer.

    Hi Zorba,

I have tried copying and pasting my project files from Essentials 4.1.5 to "Projects" file (located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites\Projects) in Essentials 4.4 and it works for me. So I would say make sure it is in the correct folders.

However, when I tried copying and pasting other project files from another server over to the new instance, I cannot see the project files either in the "open project" dialog so I have filed this as a bug for the developers to examine. So hopefully this problem will be taken care of soon.

    Hi Zorba,

The project files are cached by Essentials, so after you copy the files into the Projects folder, you should recycle the application pool for Essentials to force it to reload.

Let us know if this lets you see the projects!

    Regards,

    Hi,

Where is the project files located in Geocortex 4.6.2?

I do have few projects but I don't see any files under

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites\Projects

    Thanks,

    Dibya

    Hi Dibya,

In Essentials 4.6, the saved projects are all saved in ElasticSearch.  There are no more project files, they are all stored in a database.

    Thanks!

    Hi Dibya,

For HTML5 viewer projects created in Essentials 4.5 and up, the project files are stored in the Geocortex Document Store. Eric's provided more information on projects and the document store (https://support.geocortex.com/EssentialsGSCForum?sub-nav=forum&main-nav=Essentials&feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_SEARCH_RESULT&id=90660000000PDwaAAG) over in this thread . Silverlight viewer projects are still stored the Sites/Projects directory Carmen mentions earlier in this thread.
