Instructions for changing over to SSL

Is this still the right documentation?

I have enabled (but not required) SSL for my site in IIS and AGS. I tried the third step in the above instructions, to change the Essentials default URL to use https. It doesn't fail when I navigate to the URL, but it doesn't take my credentials, either, not even the server admin password. What am I missing?

  When I click Cancel on the pop-up credentials prompt, a GE credentials prompt is displayed and that one works. I have no idea, but I'm in.
