4.4 Upgrade - Security Store Error
After upgrading from 4.3.1 to 4.4, the post installer is stalled at the "Preparing Security Store..." stage. I have tried restarting the Geocortex Core service, repairing the installation and rebooting the server, but still get the same error. Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello Dileep,
When you look at the processes running on your server, do you see two proccesses running for the Security store? They should be called:
Geocortex.Platform.Roles.SecurityService
and Geocortex.Platform.Roles.SecurityStore
Can you please post your Cassandra logs? They can be found here:
C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\Data\Logs\SecurityStore\cassandra\system.log
Thanks,
Danny

I had the same thing when upgrading from 2.0 to 2.4. and rebooting seemed to solve the problem

Danny,
Both those processes are running, along with 21 other Geocortex.* processes
The log file you are asking for does not exist on the server. The "C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\Data\Logs" folder has a single file named "Geocortex.Core.log" and no subfolders. Geocortex.Core.log has this one line in it:
[2015-09-10 09:32:20,844][INFO ][1 ][Geocortex.Core][Platform.Host.WindowsService] Starting Geocortex.Core

Hmm, that's strange... Is Essentials installed in the default directory, to your C: drive, or is it installed in a custom location?
It's very stange that you are only seeing the one log file. There should be tons of logs in that folder.
Thanks,
Danny

Hi Dileep
Can you please run the GCX info tool to upload your logs to us for analysis? Instructions for using the tool can be found here:

When prompted, please supply the following case number: 00065367
Thanks!

Hi Daniel
I am getting the same issue here on our DEV server.
Interestingly I do not have the processes described running on the server:
- Geocortex.Platform.Roles.SecurityService and
- Geocortex.Platform.Roles.SecurityStore
Here is the content of the latest log file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\External\REST Elements\Manager\App_Data\Logs\SYSTEM.2015-09-10.log
<Event Timestamp="2015-09-10T15:32:27.1218181+12:00" Level="ERROR"><Message>[2015-09-10 15:32:27,119][ERROR][8 ][ ][Geocortex.Platform.Configuration.ConfigurationService] Error creating connected REDIS client (GISAGSDEV:6379)
The directory, "C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\Data" is empty.
Looking forward to making progress

Hi Ralph, what happens when you restart the Geocortex Core service?
Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny
after a restart of the Geocortex Core service the only obviously Geocoretx processes running are:
- Geocortex.Agent.Runner.exe *32
- Geocortex.Agent.Tray.exe
- Geocortex.Platform.Host.exe
and directory, "C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\Data" is still empty.
Running the Post Install once again progresses no further.

Hi Ralph,
Do you have Core installed on a seperate Hard Drive?
Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny
The server is virtual.
Geocortex is installed as per the default install locations however since it is on/in a SAN then it may be spread around different physical discs. Not much that I can do to control that however as far as I am aware.

Thanks Ralph. As long as the virtual server only sees one hard drive (C:) then that answers my question. The VM won't care about the underlying disk :)
At this point I think it will be best if you open a support case by emailing support@latitudegeo.com. I think we will need to have a look at your server to determing why your roles aren't starting.
Thanks,
Danny

Hello,
I encountered similar kind of error message. Over restart post installation worked fine like earlier versions. But my site is giving strange error. Please have a look at it if it has to do any thing with the above discussion.

My upgrade is stuck on the Migrating Instant Search . . . window.
It has been open now at the same bar location for over an hour now.
Do I stop or is it still doing something?
There are a bunch of processes listed for Geocortex in the task manager. All at 0% CPU for about 90% of the time the other 10% of the time some of them will have 0.1 or 0.2% CPU usage.
Just wanted to know if this is normal?
Running Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard.
Total Memory consumed by everything on my machine right now is 13% and average CPU is 3%.

Hey Sammi and Satyam,
Can you please try repairing the instance that was showing the error (From programs and features) and then run the post installer again. A couple of people on the forums have had success with this.

Hey guys,
If the repair option doesn't work please open a support case with us so we can have a further look. Thanks.

Repairing was not successfull.
The issue was resolved after uninstalling all GE components and deleting all folders from Program Files and re-installing again.
Thanks for your response.
