Zooming to scales between cached base maps levels in GVH

Create a dummy service and cache it at every level you want the map to have. Then add the service to the map and put it at the bottom of the map services list. The viewer inherits the caching levels from that last service.

That works for setting the scale levels, but it doesn't fix the problem of being able to see other cached services at in between levels. When the map zooms to a scale that the dummy service is cached to but the image service isn't, then the imagery disappears (since it's not cached at that scale).

Instead, I want the map to always show the cached imagery at any scale. In the GVS, you can zoom to any scale regardless of the cache levels of your bottom most service. The cached service doesn't resolve to the next cache level, but it's useful for viewing and printing extents that don't fit well at one of the cached levels.

Any progress on this John? I'm facing the same issue.

No progress as of yet because there's nowhere in GE to override cache levels.

I think there is another thread out there about this issue too, but I believe this is an ESRI javascript API issue rather than a Geocortex issue.  I just saw a post last week that they are one step closer to their 4.0 javascript release (http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2015/11/19/arcgis-api-for-javascript-4-0-beta-2-released/) which will include resampling of TileLayers outlined here (https://geonet.esri.com/thread/167711)  as well as VectortileLayer which at first glance does the same thing.  I need to look into that more before I speak intelligently on that.

I am looking forward to that release as well as the release of Geocortex that will incorporate all the new stuff!

Hi, we are dealing with the same issue.  We are using GCX 4.5.1 and HTML5 2.6.1 and still can't zoom to a scale between cached levels.  ArcGIS API for Javascript 4.0 has just been released.  Has there been any progress on this issue?

We are dealing with the same issue for printing between map scale levels.

This is something we are eagerly awaiting too. I don't remember seeing anything about this specifically in the Road Ahead webinar this morning for the next releases. If you haven't already upvoted the Idea, here's the posting in the Ideas forum:

Thanks for the link, Marshall, and for linking the idea, Rebecca.

This is an Esri JavaScript API 4.X feature, so Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 3.0 will support this. Because this functionality isn't in Esri's 3.X API, this isn't a capability we'll be able to offer in the 2.X HTML5 viewer, however.
