Show results in table view in handheld and tablet views

I've noticed that there is no table results view option available in handheld and table view configs. Also custom workflows using the "ShowResultsTable" command are ignored. Is there no support in those versions for table view? I can see how times it wouldn't be beneficial on a smaller screen, but there are cases where it would be useful.
