Im getting this error message when adding the exact map services that were in the map previously. Any ideas? The map service is tiled but the base map is not. The tiling scheme of the map service is not compatible with the map.

  Yes I am getting this too now.  The error message is less than helpful.

  This happened to me also, when I had removed a parcel Map service at the bottom of the list (your base layer) that was tiled, and replaced with one that wasn't. Then the map svc I was trying to add was tiled, but didn't match the new base layer.

   

  I was able to fix this by moving it to the bottom of the list in the Map Services tab.

   

  The other option is to tile the layer you are using as a your base layer to match the map service you are trying to add.
