Enable email notification for new replies on my posts
Is there a way to get notfied by email when someone adds a reply on a post I created? If yes, please advise how I can enable this setting in my Geocortex Support Center account
Best Regards,
Hani

I emailed support yesterday asking exactly the same thing. Here's the response I got:
"Hello Rebecca,
Thank you for your note. With respect to these posts you've followed, has it been more than 1 week since replies have been made? I ask, as the default functionality will send you a weekly roll-up of those posts you've followed.
If this isn't the behaviour that you would expect, we may be able to alter the notifications such that updates to posts you've followed are sent once a day, or automatically once the update has been made. What is your preference?"
Weekly notifications aren't frequent enough for me. I asked that I get notifications immediately when answers are provided. I don't see a way for users to set that themselves.0 -
Hi Rebecca and Hani,
I've been digging into this, and we plan to make this function such that you will automatically receive an email once a reponse has been made to one of your posts or a followed post.
In the meantime, in order for you to receive a noftification of a response, please subscribe to the forum in which you've made the post. The downside to this approach is that you'll see all updates to that forum, not only the ones you've followed and/or posted.
Thanks for your patience as we iron out these new features! We'll notify you once this feature has been updated.
Best wishes,

Dear Rebecca abd Pandora,
Thank you for the elabration,
I beleive that it will be great if we were notfied for updates about our posts immidiately by email (as was the case in the old version of this forum), and I prefer that this can be applicable without having to subscribe to all posts, since this will drive huge traffic to the email, and will make it very hard to follow up.
Best Regards,

Hi Pandora,
We are struggling at the moment due to the absence of the option to receive ONLY updates related to the posts we started. As Hani already indicated, this option was available in the previous Geocortex Forum.
Is there any hope to implement this feature in this new forum?0 -
Hi folks,
As part of our maintenance on November 9th, we restored the ability to follow individual community questions. You automatically follow your own questions, and should get an email notification any time someone posts a reply. Similarly, you can elect to follow others' questions via a link at the bottom of their question:
_img_ alt="The follow link can be found below the body of the question, next to the date and "Like" link." src="https://latitudegeo--c.na53.content.force.com/servlet/rtaImage?eid=90760000000XaCj&feoid=Body&refid=0EM60000000XqcN" _/_img_
In terms of the email notifications, following a question and subscribing to a category work the same way -- if you are following a question, and someone replies, you'll immediately get a notification; if you're subscribed to a category and someone replies to a question or posts a new question within it, you'll immediately get a notification. Note, though, that if you're following a question in a category you're subscribed to, you'll only receive one notification. We don't want to spam you! Similarly, if you're the one who posted the question or answer, you won't get a notification about that, either (we're going to assume that you're aware of the things you post already).
If you are only interested in questions you've posted, you don't need to do anything -- you'll only be notified when someone replies to your question. If you're interested in others' questions, including questions you've posted answers to, you'll want to follow those by clicking the "Follow" link. Please note that you do not automatically follow questions you answer that have been posted by other users -- you have to opt in to receive notifications for other people's questions.
I hope this makes the Support Center easier for you to use. If you have any questions, or you feel like you're not receiving the email notifications you expect (or you're receiving notifications you didn't ask for), please don't hesitate to (To: community@geocortex.com) send me an email.0
