Viewer not respecting machine alias in url

The viewer template is set to http://machineAlias.domain, but when we browse to the url using http://machineAlias.domain, the browser address bar switches to http://machineName.domain. Why and how to remedy?

  To remedy:

  1. Browse to your site's manager folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\<site name>\REST Elements\Manager
  2. Edit your web.config
  3. Find key: EssentialsUrl
  4. Change to your domain.
