What is the effects of indexing fields of attribute tables (feature class level) in the performance of the Geocortex
I couldn’t figure out if there is any effects on the performance of Geocortex if I indexed the fields in a feature class or table that I usually query against. Its supposed to improve the query task ,but I didn’t feel that its working with me.

Hello Ahmad,
Once a feature layer or map service has been indexed, identify and global search opertaions should greatly improve in speed. Workflows do not use the indexed data, they query the ArcGIS Server URL directly.
If you enable Instant Search hints in the viewer, you should be able to begin typing and a list of hints should display. This is an indication that the service in question has fully indexed and is functioning correctly.
Thanks, Stefan0 -
Hi Stefan...so I currently have a workflow that utilizes an Autocomplete box. It takes a solid 5-10 seconds for a record to autocomplete. I thought indexing the feature class would help with this performace, but apparently I was wrong. Any ideas on how to improve the autocomplete performace? 0 -
Hi Lisa,
You can set the Min. Populate Delay to 0 for the form item. That's the only suggestion that I have apart from upgrading networks speeds and server hardware.
Thanks, Stefan
