Secure Feature Layers and UTC
GE 4.4.2 and HTML5 Viewer 2.5.1
This issue has featured frequently on this forum without, as I am aware, a suitable solution.
Consider a secured feature layer which has been configured in Geocortex to use Web Tier Authentication (configured credentials) and to act like the Connected Windows User.
If the underlying sde table has been configured in ArcGIS to use Editor Tracking, then the name of the user carrying out an edit via Geocortex is captured as expected.
However, when identifying the edited feature using the HTML5 Viewer, all date/time values have 10 hrs added to them - Geocortex is assuming our date/times are UTC when they are not.
If this secured feature layer is now configured to use the Geocortex Services Enhancement Proxy along with Resolve Coded Domains, the Enhancement Proxy successfully recognises the date/time values as being in local time and all date/time values are displayed correctly from an indentify. However, the connected windows user is not now used for Editor Tracking - the generic esri_annonymous user is used.
It appears the connected windows user is not passed from the Viewer proxy to the Enhancement Proxy.
It appears from this that for secured feature layers we can either track edits with the connected windows user or have our date/time values displayed correctly in the Viewer but not both.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
This is a significant issue for the many of use not storing date/times in UTC.
