Sorting the results from different layers in Results Region

Is there a way to set a fixed order that controls how the information from each layer is sorted in the Results Region?

 

For example, I have an app that contains a buildings-layer (from a separate map service), and a parcels-layer (from another separate map service), when I identify a building that lies on top of a parcel, sometimes the building's data is displayed before the parcels data, and sometimes parcel's data is viewed before the building's data with no systematic logic, considering that the buildings layer is on top of the parcels layer in the map services tab in the map configuration in the Essentials Manager.

  Hello Hani,

   

  There is a feature request (GVH-7237) to allow you to control the order but at present the order is determined by what order the results are returned to Essentials by ArcGIS server.  If you want direct control now, you would need to move the functionality to a workflow where you have direct control over the sort order via the ORDERBY attribute in a QueryTask.

  Hi Shana,

   

  This specific functionality has not yet made it to a release. There are however, plans to bring layer-based grouping to the results list in one of our upcoming releases. This was recently highlighted in a (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCVideo?sub-nav=videos&main-nav=essentials&id=kA560000000Kz7m) Road Ahead Seminar . If you haven't already seen it, you can navigate to the link above and it's right around 6:30 in the video. Just remember that they are featuring "current estimates not commitments" so changes could still be made.

   

  If you feel like that doesn't address what you're looking for, there's an Idea posted here (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCIdeasDetail?c=09a6000000008RsAAI&id=087600000004MejAAE&sub-nav=ideas&main-nav=essentials)  that you can vote on, or you could post your own that specifies that sorting is needed in addition to grouping.
