Help with pushpins

Hi. I have a viewer with pushpins enabled and works as expected. I have a workflow that opens a form in the left panel. As soon as the workflow dialog is activated, the pushpin disappears, which I belive is default behaviour as the pushpin is only displayed when the results container is active. For my scenario, this is a problem as the user needs to be able to see the selected feature, while interacting with the workflow. 

 

So, is there a way to override this default behaviour and make pushpins remain visible? I have checked admin guide and looked at json config files, but not seeing anything there. 

 

My other thought is to try adding the pushpin via the workflow. I see that there is a viewer command 'AddPushpin'. Documentation states that the parameter is a feature, described as 'The ID of the feature to create a pushpin for". That is a bit ambiguos - is it a featue object or an id and if so what id value - objectid or something else...? I tried using a feature object here, but that did not work. Could use a tip here.
