Instant Search's Data Folder Location
I have already installed Essentials and it's been running for some time. I would now like to add Instant Search but before I do so, I would like to change the location of the data folder, where Instant Search stores its indexes, to a drive that has more space.
In the Essentials installation guide in Section 4.3.2 ist says 'For instructions on changing the data folder's location, see Install Essentials for the first time on page 24'. If I go there in Step 2 it gives instructions on how to change the locaiton of the data folder but only if Geocortex Core is not already installed.
Does this mean that if I want to change the location of the data folder that I have to reinstall Geocortex Core?

Hello Mark,
I would recommend that you reinstall Core as it is the most reliable method to change the data folder. If you are performing an upgrade, you can change the Data folder during installation as well.
Thanks, Stefan

Hi Mark,
There was an executable present in earlier versions of Essentials that would allow you to move the data directory without uninstalling Core. This executable is no longer present in Essentials 4.4.x but we have opened a development ticket to get this tool re added to the next release of Essentials. In the meantime the only work around is to uninstall Core and re install from the MSI found in the Post Insall directory.
Post Install Default Directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\Post Install
Thanks,Mike Ketler

Thanks for the responses. It looks like a reinstallation of Geocortex Core is required then. 0
