I noticed that the support site search doesn't perform like one would expect. For instance, search for "gzip". It returns zero results. This seemed unlikely, but I accepted it.

Using a different search term led me to https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCForum?sub-nav=forum&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_DETAIL&id=906600000000AkrAAE which absolutely has the phrase "gzip" in the responses. It is a "Client Loading" post by Gareth Finney and a response by Jeff Siemens.

I have noticed a large number of common search phrases that turn up zero hits and most of the time I believe I can't be the only one with the problem or question that I have.

Any insight into this? Operator error?

It's definitely not operator error, unless we're both doing something wrong, because I see the same thing. I'll forward this to the systems team and have them look under the hood.

Quick follow-up on the search issue, David:

The site search currently searches questions but not answers. This was a decision made for performance reasons (queries made through Salesforce's API are a bit of a bottleneck, in this case). I'm working with the team to see if we can somehow improve the performance of the search without omitting potential results.

In the meantime, the Community search will search both questions and answers. I hope that helps!

    Quick update:

We have fixed the issue with the "What would you like to know?" search results obscuring the item feed. The feed now moves down the page to accommodate the search results.

We're still hard at work on a custom solution that will allow you to attach files to Community posts.
