I'm trying to do something similar to one of the Geocortex Deep Dives (third/last application)

I've downloaded the project and brought it up in Visual Studio, but now I'm not sure how to apply it to one of my existing sites? Also, I know there's the quick start, but is there a way to use an existing site as a base and build a custom module onto it? For some reason I'm having a hard time making that connection.

  But it would be nice if there was one for HTML5 or, even better, a video documenting the process.
