GeoCortex Agent Runner not running?
We are running GE 4.4.2, and all seems well. However our systems administrators have some diagnostic tools that consistently send us a critical warning the Geocortex.Agent.Runner.exe is not running. My thinking is that this is a remnant from older versions of GE but am not sure.
As I mentioned we are not noticing any problems other than the monitoring messages, so I hjust want to be sure this is not a problem.
Thanks -
Allen

Geocortex Agent is no longer used by Essentials as of version 4.0. You only need Agent if you are running one of the following: - Geocortex Essentials 3.x
- Geocortex Optimizer 1.x
- Geocortex Fleet Tracker 2.x

Thanks Ryan - that was my suspicion but glad to get confirmation.
Can all GAS 2 files be removed as well since Geocortex Core came into use? (just doing some housekeeping now)0 -
Hi Allen,
Just check where your Geocortex Core "Data" directory is. There are some upgrade scenarios where this directory could still be a child of the GAS 2 directory. You wouldn't want to lose that. Otherwise yes, you can remove the GAS 2 files.

Quick follow up on this -
Does the new Geocortex Insight product require Geocortex Agent? We have Agent running on a production ArcServer machine, that appears to be totally unneccessary and using significant resources. We do have Insight, and it is monitoring this server but does not 'live' on this server.
I would very much like to remove this but want to make sure it won't blow up Insight.

Geocortex Insight does not require Agent.

Ryan,
If we've upgraded to GE4 & Insight, is it recommended to remove Agent from all instances???
Thanks,
Todd S0 -
Yes, you can/should remove Agent unless you are still running one of the following on that machine:
- Geocortex Essentials 3.x
- Geocortex Optimizer 1.x
- Geocortex Fleet Tracker 2.x

Does this apply to Geocortex Application Services as well?
It has the same install date on our server as Geocortex Agent. (Sorry if this is a dumb question, I've only been in charge of our Geocortex since around version 4.1).0 -
Yes, the same applies to Geocortex Application Services.
