Change toolbar visibility with startup workflow
Essentials 4.4.2 and HTML5 Viewer 2.6
Hi
Is it possible to have a startup workflow that sees what groups a user belongs to and then alters the toolbars accordingly? I would like to only show particular toolbars based on the users roles.
I can pick up all the Windows AD details with a workflow but cant see how I can alter (or do I dynamically create?) a toolbar.
I appreciate I could use different Viewers for different roles but just wondered if I could just get away with one viewer?
Thanks
Doug

Tom Neer was kind enough to post a possible solution. (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCForum?sub-nav=forum&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_DETAIL&dc=Geocortex_Viewer_for_HMTL5&criteria=ALLQUESTIONS&id=906600000004Il9AAE)
I haven't had the chance to check it out, but it sounds like what you are looking for.0 -
Built-in you can only set permissions for Toolbar Items and then flag Hidden on Disable but not Toolbar Groups or Toolbars. 0 -
Many thanks Dan for that link - very useful :)
Tom, you say you can do this at Toolbar item level but how do you set permissions for a tool? In the manager I can see being able to hide on disable but could you please confirm how you initially set the permission?
Cheers

Somewhat misspoke. You can control Workflows you have added to the Toolbar using the Permissions in the Geocortex Manager. But it doesn't apply to builtin tools in the Toolbar. You would need to use our script that Dan linked above to toggle those on and off. 0
