Ever growing list of DataConnections in DataLinks? Bug? (4.5.1 )
We have 4.5.1 and 2.6.1 HTML5 Viewer and notice that after a while the list of Data Connections seems to grow substantially. We start with 2 and after some editing in Manager of adding layers, DataLinks (using same DataConnectionID) and anything else - basically just editing in some way..... eventually the SITE.XML file starts storing a lot more DataConnectionIDs.
We often end up with more than 10 after a few weeks! Even though a DataConnection has never been added ie. there are always just 2.
What we have to do is to delete the extra DataConnections and change the XML to have the DataConnection ID of the real connections (1 or 2).
Has anyone else come across this? Surely a bug?
Cheers
Doug

Hey Douglas,
Its usually a problem when you import datalinks from a layer that is already in your current site. We have 30 layers that all use the same 3 datalinks so when we import the datalinks it adds to the Data Connections as if they were never there to begin with since Manager is assuming you are importing from a site that you currently aren't editing. See this thread here for the workaround. (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCForum?sub-nav=forum&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_SEARCH_RESULT&id=90660000000Xb5PAAS)
Thanks,

Thanks Nelson. Yes we had to use Notepadd++ to manuall remove the links and I did do a lot of DataLink importing from other layers so that does explain why.
