Enable snapping in workflow

I have seen a few older posts concerning snapping, but without answers.

 

Thought I'd ask again.

 

I have a workflow that allows users to add a line feature to a feature class. I would like to automatically snap to available point features. I have added a RunExternalCommand with "ActivateSnapping" for the Command Name. This doesn't seem to do anything.

 

I have Allow Snapping and Snapping Enabled checked for all of the layers.

 

I'm using Essential 4.5.1.58, HTML5 Viewer 2.6.1, and Workflow Designer 4.5.1.58

 

Is enabling snapping possible through a workflow?

  Hi Mike, 

   

  The ActivateSnapping command currently works only when a compatible tool and 'drawmode' is in use. At anytime when using a tool (workflow too) pressing hotkey 'f' to allow users to toggle snapping. This command is mapped to the ActivateSnapping command.
