Sites disappear after upgrading to 4.5.1
Has anyone else had their sites disappear in Essentials Manager after upgrading to 4.5.1?
I just upgraded from 4.4.3 to 4.5.1 on my dev server: ran the installer, ran the post installer, everything seemed fine... and then I logged in to manager to finish upgrading the viewers and there are no sites there, besides the Charlotte, Charlotte ArcGIS Online, Charlotte Bing Maps, and Charlotte Secured. So none of mine are there. The folders are still on the C drive, same location as the Charlotte sites. Not sure what to do here, as I can't seem to re-add them in GE Manager.
Thoughts? If not, I'll roll back to a backup on Monday and try again.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
I haven't heard of this happening before. I'd encourage you to open a support case so that one of our analysts can take a look.
Thanks!

I think I figured it out. I had taken a copy of the existing sites before the upgrade, and they were in the same location as the originals (e.g. "VicMap" and "VicMap - Copy"). I seem to remember years ago I copied just the site.xml and put it in an archive folder, and didn't rename it. That made my site disappear from Manager too. I deleted the backup copy of the sites and then when I launched Essentials Manager they were back!! Whew.
Good to know. If you backup your old sites before an upgrade, put them somewhere else!!0 -
Hi Stephanie,
That's great, I'm glad you got it sorted! (And that you thought to back up your sites before an upgrade!)
FYI, the reason that the sites wouldn't show up was because there would have been duplicate site.xml files with the same site IDs.
Cheers!
