Using the web request activity with a page that requires authentication

Hi,

 

I'm trying to get the "Web Request" activity in the Workflow Designer to call a page that requires authentication. It can get it work with a normal publically accessible page, but not with a page that requires authentication. The activity has an in-argument called "Credentials" but I can't find any information about the correct syntax for it. 

 

 

I've tried creating a variable (test_iCredentials1) with the default: new System.Net.NetworkCredential(<USERNAME>, <PASSWORD>, <DOMAIN>) but that didn't work.

 

Has anyone managed to successfully use credentials with the web request activity? Ideally I'd like to use the users credentials (they'll be logged in to the GCX viewer on our intranet), but I also have a service account I could use if I needed to use a set of hard coded credentials.
