Use basemaps with layer themes

When our users activate a layer theme, the base map switcher is greyed out and there are no base maps showing in the layer list. Is it possible to allow users to change basemaps while viewing a layer theme without including the basemaps in the layer theme itself? They need to be able to toggle on or off an ortho base map while viewing the layer theme. GE 4.5.1, GVH 2.6.1

  For anyone who may be in the same boat, I found a solution on page 87 of the Essentials 4.5 Admin Guide (Interaction Between the Basemap Switcher and Layer Themes).
