Add a simple address search tool.

Hello,

 

I am using the HTML5 viewer version 2.6.1.  I have an Esri geocoding service set up in Essentials, and a reverse geocode set on the map context menu.  What is the best way to add a simple one line forward address search tool to the main toolbar?

 

Any ideas?

  I imagine you could write a geocoding workflow and then add it as a button to your toolbar. Is there a reason you don't want to use the built in geocoding capabilities of the global search bar?

  We like having the global search bar set so the users only gets results from the layers in our map services.  If we enable geocoding for the global search bar a lot of extra results show up.  Is there a way to limit the results in the global search bar?

  Hi Kevin,

   

  Yes, you can limit the searchable fields that global search uses.  This is done through the fields tab on the layer configuration in Manager.

   

  Just add the layer you want to be searchable, and make sure that search is off for all other fields (by clicking on the binoculars.)
