Service connection setup question

Ok, I’m new and not a GIS person so please be gentle.

 

Problem:  So with a first time installation of Geocortex Essentials why am I not able to setup a service connection?  Any URL I try fails but I’m able to hit the portal service from any workstation on our LAN.  There is clearly a specific URL I need to use to hit the ArcGIS portal when settings up the service connection but nothing is working.

 

 

 

Am I missing the obvious?  Any help would be appreciated - Thanks.

  Hi Kurt, 

   

  You need to set the service connection to your ArcServer Manager or ArcGIS Online services rather than ArcGIS Portal. If you have your services on ArcServer Manager, then your connection should look something like this:

   

  http://aws-dmags2.geocortex.com/arcgis/rest/services/

   

  If you copied that URL into a browser, you should be able to see the REST endpoint. If the page asks you for credentials, then you need to also choose the correct Authentication Setting when adding the service connection in Essentials Manager and enter in the proper credentials in order for your connection to work.
