What's coming in Geocortex Analytics 1.2: Improvements to Data Management

As we continue to release new versions of Geocortex Analytics, one of the areas of optimization we are focused on is data storage; ultimately, we want to increase performance and reduce the amount storage space Geocortex Analytics requires.  

 

 

 

At version 1.2, some of the changes we have implemented include:

• Reducing the database size by 40-80%;
• Summarizing long-term historical data from hourly to daily and monthly; and
• Providing the option to purge old data to free up your disk space if needed.

These changes will enable Geocortex Analytics to be more responsive, and scale with the minimum storage needed to monitor your GIS environment over the longer term. After 1 year of collecting data, it will be summarized from hourly to daily; data 2 years and older will be summarized monthly. This will enable you to view high-level, long-term historical trends without dramatically increasing Geocortex Analytics’ database size over time.
