    Hi Ethan,

Are you referring to the URL for Analytics, Essentials, or something else all together?

    Thanks!

See attached.  This might be a little more complicated. We named the machine MAPS2 when we set it up (MAPS was already in use, but we've since gotten rid of it). So we've renamed MAPS2 to MAPS, but All of the Essentials references in all of the config files reference MAPS2. So, Analytics identified the server correctly, but all of the apps use MAPS2.  Perhaps my question should be how to change all of the Essential configs to MAPS (and not break everything).

You'll also see the .LOCAL on there, which should be .COM. Analytics definitely got that wrong, so I will need to figure out how to change that.

    Hi Ethan,

The discovered URL can come from a couple of places:

    1) The Post installer (the first entry in the hosts file)

    2) The Essentials URL in IIS.

To change the directory in IIS, do the following:

    1) Open IIS Manager on the Essentials server

    2) Expand the tree down to your RestManager Application

    3) Double click on Application Settings

    4) Double click on EssentialsUrl

    5) Make your required changes to the server name

    6) Restart the Geocortex Core service on the Essentials server (or wait 24 hours for the Essentials Info collector to re-run)

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks,

Thanks, Daniel. Ok, i've worked through your list. My hosts file has no entries. I've changed the EssentialsURL in IIS. Let's break this down into steps. When I click on the link in the image above, i get the message below, which isn't correct, right?_img_ alt="User-added image" src="https://latitudegeo--c.na53.content.force.com/servlet/rtaImage?eid=90760000000Cg4N&feoid=Body&refid=0EM600000001QkI" _/_img_

I just grasped what you were saying about the hosts. i was thinking the hosts file in windows/system32/drivers/etc. You were talking about the button in the post installer. Ok, so if I go through the post installer and change all the places that say "maps2" to "maps", will that change all the links for manager and for all my sites and in every location in inetpub that needs changing? My viewer url is also "maps2" and there doesn't seem to be a way to change that, is there?

    Hi Ethan,

Yes, sorry, the Hosts file in the Post installer, not the one in System32.

I think that once you change the entries in the Post installer, you should be good to go in Manager, with one small exception:

    1) Go into one of your sites:

    2) Go to Viewers

    3) There is a hyperlink under the viewer table titled "Edit Viewer URLs".  Click it

    4) Change your viewer URL(s) from maps2 to maps

    5) Check a few of your other sites.  Once you change it for one, it should change it for the rest.

I think that's all you need to do when changing the hostname.

In regards to your post above, you may need to sign into the rest endpoint to view that site if it's secured (the sign in link is in the upper right of the page)

    I hope that helps!

    Thanks,

    Danny,

I quickly tried this on one of my sites and I got the following error when attempting to go to https://maps.landadvisors.com/h5v/?viewer=abq: An error occurred.

ConfigurationDomainMismatch: Could not load viewer because the specified configuration file is not on the same domain as the viewer (https://maps2.landadvisors.com/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/sites/Abq/viewers/h5v/virtualdirectory/Resources/Config/Default/Desktop.json.js).

When trying to go to https://maps2.landadvisors.com/h5v/?viewer=abq, i got: Error

The Sign In or Sign Out operation was successful, but no application was given.

Go to User Info.  and my URL was changed to "https://maps.landadvisors.com/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/security/default#gcx-SKMcDKZBOq6keIPeYp2aOFeQAAatSde6oeQkGP1QmAPm5F2wAAiqn4DtQ0h2pIR3udnYChclPw"

When I do a search there are many .js, .xml and .config files that contain maps2.landadvisors.com. Is there some other place I need to change the maps2 to maps?

kind of strange, but https://maps.landadvisors.com/h5v/index.html?viewer=abq.h5v works, but

https://maps.landadvisors.com/h5v/index.html?viewer=abq does not work (note the missing .h5v).  What is that?

    Here is the list of the 6 remaining files in the Latitude Geographics folder that still have a reference to maps2. Do I need to change them to reference maps instead? \\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Manager\App_Data\SiteCache\<b>SiteCache.xml</b> \\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites\<b>RestAppSettings.xml</b> \\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites\.idea\<b>modules.xml</b> \\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites\.idea\<b>workspace.xml</b> \\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites\Templates\<b>Templates.xml</b> \\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Identity Server\Web\App_Data\<b>IdentityServerConfiguration.sdf</b>

    Hi Ethan,

Good catch, I think the only other one you need to change is the RestAppSettings.xml file (that's the file that controls the viewer URLs for new viewers that are added.

The .h5v on your viewer looks like a global unique ID, which is how the new viewer short URLs are handled.

    I hope that helps!

    Thanks,

    Danny
