format of path to IIS log

It turned out to be a problem with the ArcGIS log path, which had been successfully saved previously.  Once I reentered the AGS log path / credentials, the IIS UNC path was accepted also.  It would be helpful if the warning identified which path it was complaining about, since there are two possibilities.

Good call Peter, I'll file that as an improvement.  I'm glad you got it figured out!

    Thanks!

    Danny,

Can you please confirm how deep the directory paths should be for both AGS and IIS logs?

I've been getting inconsistent results for both.

For IIS I have shared out the directory that contains the actual log files (eg. C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC1) and for AGS I again shared out the parent directory of the individual log files (eg. C:\arcgisserver\logs\SERVER.FULLY.QUALIFIED.DOMAIN.NAME\server).

Are these the correct levels to drill down to, or does Analytics want something higher level like just c:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles or c:\arcgisserver\logs?

    Hi Peter,

I don't think it matters how far down you go.  I usually configure the collectors to point at the highest point (so that if a new web adapter gets added, or the ArcGIS server name changes or something, the logs will still be monitored), however the way you have configured it should be fine.

    ArcGIS Logs:  C:\arcgisserver\logs\

    IIS logs: C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\

    I hope that helps!

    Thanks,
