This operation failed because of a projection error

I have a simple workflow that queries my street layer.  When I click on records in the results table, I sometimes getting this error message: This operation failed because of a projection error.  If you click "OK", it will still zoom to the record.  In the console of developer tools, I see the errors in the attached image.  If I query the same layer using the out of the box query tools, I do not get the errors.

  Hi Shana,

   

  I see that you've been in contact with support, so I'm just posting here for the benefit of others that may run into this message in the future.

   

  Some steps to use when troubleshooting "This operation failed because of a projection error" include:

  • checking the assigned spatial reference for the geometry that is being reprojected
  • ensuring that the Geometry Server that is being used for the reprojection can be reached consistently

  Thanks Amanada.  My issue was the second one you listed. I switched to our ArcGIS Server geometry service (not sure why I was using Esri's to begin with) and have not had the issue since.
