Return System.DateTime from DatePicker created in RuntimeModifications, instead of "/Date(milliseconds)"

DatePicker form items that are created in the RuntimeModifications sequence of a form return the date selected in Unix epoch format i.e., "/Date(milliseconds)" which is inconsistent with dates returned by DatePicker form items that are created in the actual DisplayForm activity.  A more detailed exaplanation can be found here:

Could we please make the DatePicker consistently return System.DateTime regardless of whether it is created in DisplayForm or RuntimeModifications sequence?
