Geocortex site OAUTH2/OpenID login? e.g. login with Google user ID

Does anyone have an example or experience using OAUTH2 OpenID to enable login to a Geocortex site/viewer? For example, a public site/viewer with option to login using Google user ID to enable more functions.

 

At GeoDiscover Alberta we have a public silverlight viewer which enables users to save their viewer projects for later use or sharing with other people, no login required.

We are moving to the HTML5 viewer but the HTML5 viewer only supports save-project for authenticated users.

 

So we are looking for a solution for public users to login to our site, possibly using their existing social media account from Google, Twitter etc.

 

That would require the Geocortex Identity server to use OAUTH2, possibly using a custom identity provider.

 

Has anyone done anything similar?

 

Any recommendations?

    Hi Rex,

     

    This should be possible without a custom identity provider, but it will take some advanced editing of Essentials' security configuration. I would recommend getting in touch with our Implementation Services team for assistance with this -- your account manager can help get you started.

    Sure Rod, will do. One of the support people from Latitude sent me some PDF docs with instructions for enabling OAUTH2/OpenID login with Google or Facebook IDs. I can share those with you.

    Did either of you get this to work? After following the instructions I'm getting a 404 error when selecting the provider from the Sign In page.
