How do I give access to Analytics to people without an ArcGIS Identity?

I have users who are not in our GIS department and therefore do not have an ArcGIS identity, but need to see server performance and trends. People like our system administrator and our President. How do I allow them to log in?

  Are you using Portal or AGOL?

   

  In Portal, you can choose the option to create a 'built-in portal member' which works fine in conjunction with Windows Authenticated ArcGIS accounts.  Not sure what options you have if you're using AGOL.

  I'm not using Portal. With AGOL I'm only able to create accounts for users with an ESRI license.

  Hi Ethan,

   

  Unfortunately, there is no way to give someone access to Analytics without them having an ArcGIS identity.  You need to share the application in AGOL with the users or groups that you want to grant access to.

  Danny, does a person need to be a L2 Named User to look at Analytics, or can an L1 Named User see it as well?  If they can, then you can purchase L1 named users ($1,000 for 10) for folks that are not ArcGIS users.  Since you are requiring Named Users, maybe LG could provide a few with the purchase of Analytics...

  Hey Mike,

   

  Great question!  I'm not sure that has been explicitly tested, but I'll find out and let you know.  Based on the description of L1 users, I would think that it would work fine (since we are not creating content, just consuming it), but I'll find out for sure.  

   

  If you'd like to see some named users included with the purchase of Analytics, I would suggest chatting with your account manager, or posting it to the ideas section.

  Hey Mike,

   

  According to the product manager, any account that has been granted access to the Analytics application should be able to log in (be it a level 1 or level 2 account).

  Hi guys, 

   

  I can confirm that it works with a 'Level 1' user without issues however, there are a few catches to keep in mind and if someone has any resolution to them.

  1. If the registered app for the Geocortex Analytics Setup Identity (AGOL or Portal for ArcGIS) is shared with Organization then anyone would be able to access the Analytics site without issues. This can be customized by creating a custom group and adding only required members if needed.
  2. In either case of Level 1 or Level 2 (now redefined as Viewer, Editor, Field Worker, Creator and GIS Professional), default installation settings allow a user to customize the reports, and add or remove already defined resources. 

  I wonder if there is anyway where we can setup the users so, only some are allowed to configure while others to have read only access. Can you please share your thoughts?
